Dairy freeeeeee
I am not Dairy-free by choice. I would never have chosen this. I love me some dairy. Cheese, milk chocolate, big glass of milk...
But, I have to say, it is not as hard as I thought it would be. I think it's been four days now and my daughter's eczema is almost totally gone! Who knew that the milk she was getting through the breastmilk was causing it! We had battled it for a couple of months, putting on the corticosteroid cream and it wasn't getting much better.
But the day I stopped with the milk, I stopped with the cream... and it still went away!
I'd best lose some weight as a side benefit though!

I know, I know
..but... but...
I have excuses, many of them.
Nothing has really been going on. Until this week when I had both kids tested for allergies. My son is allergic to dust, not horses as we'd thought. And my daughter is allergic to MILK and coconut.
I am still breastfeeding her so to ensure she gets none of the milk protein, I'm gong milk-free. Do you know how hard this will be?
I looked at the list of what I couldn't eat, and realized that it looks very much like MY GROCERY LIST. This is a problem.
I'm trying to look at it like it's a new food adventure. And I do think I'll lose some weight, what with all the walking around the house trying to find something to eat!

Good thing I went shopping
Picking my son up at Kindergarten today, we casually chatted with an older boy in the stairwell. He had a super-cool toy, which I'm at a loss to describe since it involved numbers and moving blocks around and I knew from the second I saw it that I would not be able to do it.
Moving on.
My son asked, "How do the numbers stay on? Are there magnets in there?"
"No," said stairwell boy, "they are just in there and you'd have to break it to get them out."
"But we wouldn't want to do that, would we?" I asked.
"But," interjected my son, "if you have a man at your house, he can fix it!"
Men. Good for something!
